4 TIPS TO START TAKING CARE OF YOUR CLOTHES
We make many mistakes in our daily lives, without realizing it, and these do not help our clothes to be well cared for and last longer.
- Reduce the use of the washing machine: not every time we wear a garment we have to wash it. Once we take off a garment, we should leave it hanging in a ventilated place instead of throwing it directly into the laundry basket. Once it has been aired and if it is not stained, consider wearing it again for another day before putting it in the wash. When we wash, we must also keep in mind that it is very important to separate the clothes by colour, select the correct programme and use the least harmful detergents for our clothes.
- Be careful what you hang on hangers: it is important to keep in mind that not all clothes can be hung. There may be jumpers or more delicate garments that get deformed when hanging. Keep a close eye on how your clothes hang and decide whether it is better for them to go in a drawer or on a shelf folded.
- Clothesline: it is more useful and necessary than we might think. Prioritizing the use of the clothesline over the dryer is key. Personally, I don't like using clothespins because they often leave a mark on the most fragile clothes. I recommend having a good clothesline like the one I recommend below so you can easily and stably hang clothes without having to use clothespins. In addition, it is always advisable to hang some clothes such as shirts directly on a hanger.
- Product: Choosing good products to clean clothes is key as they have a direct impact on our health. Many conventional products leave toxins on the fabric in the water. And many of them are far from biodegradable. Below I recommend the detergent I always use and that meets all the requirements. Also, if you have sensitive skin, using them will be of great help.
